There are times in His Presence when joy comes in a way that cannot be forced or explained.
Sometimes it comes quietly.
Sometimes with laughter.
Sometimes with tears.
There have been times in prayer and soaking in His Presence when joy began with one person and then seemed to spread through the room. Others were drawn in simply because something was happening in the Presence of God.
I have seen those moments become times of prayer, worship, salvation, healing, and people being filled with the Holy Spirit.
The joy was not the goal.
Jesus was the focus.
But in His Presence, joy came.
Romans 14:17 tells us that the Realm of God is righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.
Acts 13:52 says the disciples were continually filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.
There is something here I do not want to miss.
Joy and the Presence of the Holy Spirit belong together.
We do not manufacture His joy. We do not try to make something happen. We simply come to Him, remain with Him, and allow the Holy Spirit to do what only He can do.
Sometimes His Presence brings conviction.
Sometimes peace.
Sometimes tears.
And sometimes overwhelming joy.
Final Thought
I do not want to seek an experience. I want to seek Him.
But when His joy comes, I want to receive it.
When the Holy Spirit brings joy into the room, I do not want to resist it simply because I do not understand it.
I want to remain in His Presence, keep my eyes on Jesus, and allow His joy to overflow.
The joy is not the destination. His Presence is.
Prayer
Father, thank You for the joy that comes from Your Presence. Keep my heart focused on Jesus and sensitive to the Holy Spirit. Help me not to chase an experience, but to seek You. When Your joy comes, help me receive it with gratitude and let it overflow to others. Let Your Presence remain the center of everything. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
