Humility under the mighty hand of God
“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you at the proper time.”
— 1 Peter 5:6 (NASB)
Humility is realizing I cannot do this in my own flesh.
Jesus made the way for me to come to the Father.
The Holy Spirit was given to help me, teach me, remind me of what Jesus said, and be with me.
There are times I need to repent — to turn from what I have been doing and turn back toward Him.
And I need to make the most of the time He has given me.
Without Jesus and His atonement, and without the Holy Spirit within me, trying to stand, serve, and commune with a Holy God — Holy, set apart — is kinda pointless in my own flesh.
I need Him.
Humility is not just thinking less of myself.
Sometimes humility is simply admitting:
“Father, I cannot do this without You.”

“Father, I cannot do this without You.”
I need Him.
Prayer
Father, I humble myself under Your mighty hand.
Thank You for Jesus, who made the way for me to come to You.
Thank You for the Holy Spirit, who helps me, teaches me, and reminds me of what Jesus said.
Help me to repent quickly, turn back to You, and walk in the time You have given me.
Cleanse me from all unrighteousness and keep me aware of how deeply I need You.
I cannot do this in my own flesh.
I need You.
In the Name of Jesus, I pray.
